September was the month Boracay's casino story turned from plans into an open door. Here is everything that happened, in order.

14 to 16 September: KABAN opens

InsiderPH reported on 14 September that KABAN Hotel and Casino Boracay would open two days later. The soft opening went ahead on 16 September at Station 0 in Barangay Yapak: a six-storey building with an 88-room hotel and a PAGCOR-licensed casino floor of about 2,000 square metres.

Casino.org, writing on 15 September, was the only outlet to give machine counts: 150 slot machines and 10 live-dealer tables. The operator has not published its own figures, so treat those as reported rather than confirmed.

18 to 25 September: the details come in

GMA News confirmed on 18 September that the developer is Golden TW Realty and Development Corp., building within a 23-hectare master plan at Station 0. Context.ph reported on 24 September that the opening was marked with an outdoor LED reveal and a ribbon-cutting attended by representatives of the Aklan provincial government, the Municipality of Malay and Barangay Yapak.

What comes next

  • 11 October 2026: KABAN's formal grand launch.
  • Fourth quarter of 2026: Boracay Central, a lifestyle mall by the same developer at Station 0, is scheduled to open.
  • Boracay Newcoast: Travellers International said in September 2025 that it would break ground on a US$300 million boutique casino resort in 2026. As of 27 September we have not found a public announcement of a groundbreaking or an opening date. What we know so far.
