Boracay Newcoast casino: what we know so far
KABAN is Boracay's first casino, but it is not the only one planned. A second project is in the works at Boracay Newcoast, on the island's eastern side. Here is what has been said publicly, and what has not.
Who is building it
Travellers International Hotel Group, the leisure arm of Alliance Global Group, which operates Newport World Resorts in Manila. Boracay Newcoast itself is a tourism estate by Megaworld, another Alliance Global company, planned around an 18-hole golf course, nearly 2,000 hotel rooms and a one-kilometre beachfront.
What is planned
In September 2025, Travellers said it would break ground in 2026 on a US$300 million casino resort at Boracay Newcoast. Its chief executive, Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez, described it as a boutique property catering mainly to domestic visitors, "right-sized" for the Boracay market.
What is not confirmed
- No opening date. Earlier reports projected a Newcoast casino for late 2025 or early 2026. That did not happen, and no new date has been published.
- No groundbreaking yet on record. As of 27 September 2026, we have not found a public announcement that construction has started.
- No size details. The number of rooms, tables and slot machines has not been announced.
The project is tracked as "Reported" on our status board. It will move forward there only when there is a filing, a regulator notice or an on-the-record company statement behind it.
