Planned casinos in Boracay: Newcoast, Kaban and what is actually open

Boracay has always been famous for white sand, turquoise water and sunsets. Casino plans have followed it for almost a decade. Here is where each one stands.

Boracay Newcoast

Megaworld's 150-hectare township on the eastern side of the island has carried a casino plan since the 2021 policy reversal. The company has described it as a boutique gaming floor rather than a large resort.

The Galaxy proposal

The largest plan, announced in 2017 with Leisure & Resorts World, lost its local partner after the 2018 closure. Galaxy later told investors it was not considering a return.

Station Zero

KABAN Hotel and Casino at Station Zero, long promoted as an upcoming hotel with gaming, is now the first casino open on the island.
